O’Dell’s Honey Holiday Tradition

What started as a small act of gratitude has become a holiday tradition shared with thousands - one jar of honey at a time.

As sure as Christmas itself, O’Dell honey is an undeniable December tradition – one we look forward to every single year.

What began as a simple idea rooted in gratitude has grown into a meaningful holiday tradition that connects our past, present, and future.

The O’Dell honey tradition started with Chuck O’Dell in the early years of the company. Traditionally in the 1990s, it was common for businesses to gift a large bottle of alcohol to a president or company owner at the end of the year. While appreciated, Chuck felt something was missing.

He wanted a way to say thank you to everyone – the people we worked with day in and day out, not just those at the top. Looking for a more inclusive, thoughtful gesture, Chuck decided to gift jars of honey instead. Simple, unexpected, and heartfelt, it was a gift that could be shared and enjoyed by all. And just like that, a tradition was born.

For more than 25 years, O’Dell HVAC Group has proudly sourced our honey from the same small business, Beaver Valley Gold in Clarksburg, Ontario. The relationship has grown alongside the tradition itself—from our very first order of 360 jars in 1996 to an incredible 4,740 jars in 2025.

Each jar represents a connection, a partnership, and a shared year of hard work.

Michelle O’Dell, Project Manager and daughter of Chuck O’Dell, shares the story behind the honey and her family’s long-standing relationship with the Honey House. From the hives in Clarksburg to the hands of our valued clients, every step of the journey reflects care, craftsmanship, and community.

Michelle also highlights the original BEE Line newsletter—a nod to the early days of O’Dell and a reminder that some of the best traditions are the ones that grow naturally over time.

This gift of honey is a small but meaningful way for us to say thank you—for an incredible year of trust, collaboration, and support. It’s our way of recognizing the relationships that make what we do possible.

As we head into the new year, we’re proud to carry this cherished tradition forward, continuing to strengthen the bonds we’ve built and celebrating the people who make O’Dell what it is.

Here’s to another sweet year ahead.
