2019 AHR Expo Roundup

Blog

The AHR Expo is the world’s largest HVACR event, attracting the most comprehensive gathering of industry professionals from around the globe each year. Co-sponsored by ASHRAE and AHRI, the show welcomes HVACR professionals serving commercial, industrial, residential and institutional markets.

Once again I was pleased to represent O’Dell at this year’s show, which took place at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta from January 14 to 16.

As always, many of our manufacturers were there to showcase their evolving technologies. Below is a list of some of the most exciting releases from 2019:

enVerid

enVerid Systems has some game changing technology. ASHRAE agreed, presenting them with the Product of the Year award for their indoor air scrubber module. Full details are here. O’Dell is very excited to bring this technology to Ontario and looks forward to delivering the improved indoor air quality and major energy reductions in both retrofit and new buildings.

Condair

Formerly known as Nortec, Condair was on hand with their new US Series Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier. Click here for more details.

The company also gave a sneak preview of their new desiccant dehumidifier they’ll be launching in 2019. Stay tuned!

LG

LG introduced the next generation in variable refrigerant flow (VRF) technology, MultiV 5. The MV5 product takes VRF to new levels of proficiency and efficiency. Key advancements include:

  • Heating capacities rated to -30oC (-22oF)
  • Enhanced defrost strategies
  • 20-ton capacity in a single chassis, reducing system footprint & complexity
  • Dual sensing technology for intelligent operation in any outdoor weather conditions

Aldes

With an already great lineup of heat and energy recovery ventilation equipment, ranging from 50-11,000 cfm, Aldes introduced the InspirAIR product for indoor and rooftop applications from 500 to 4,000 cfm.

Choose among three types of fixed-plate heat and energy recovery cores or an enthalpy wheel for maximum efficiency. Add heating coils, EC motors and an advanced BacNET controller to get the most out of your investment.

The InspirAIR Commercial also offers an optional internal bypass channel and damper for economizer operation, with no need to connect any additional ductwork or components to the outside of the units. Designed for the needs of the construction industry, it is budget conscious while offering a wide range of options to fit into most types of buildings and design conditions. With Aldes Canada’s excellent service and delivery times, you can’t go wrong choosing InspirAIR Commercial.

Prihoda

With one of the most colourful booths at the show, Prihoda once again proves that engineering and art belong together. They displayed some of their capabilities to transform ductwork into art while delivering exceptional air distribution.

Prihoda also introduced their helical duct hold-open solution that maintains the shape of the fabric duct even without airflow. This product can also be used in retrofit applications where duct droop is getting you down. Consider fabric duct for your next project with exposed ducts.
